Managing users in a Lab-only organization

An organization that uses Picsha Lab without Picsha DAM, for example a lab that prints orders from online stores, manages its operators inside the Lab. Administrators of such an organization have a Users tab under Settings. Organizations that also use Picsha DAM manage people in Picsha Admin instead, and their Lab says so.

Inviting a user

  1. Open Welcome (your name), Settings, then Users.
  2. Under Invite user, enter the person's Email address, their First name and Last name, and choose a Role, or No role for someone who should not sign in yet.
  3. Click Add and send welcome email.

The person receives a welcome email with a single-use sign-in link, valid for 7 days, and chooses a password the first time they sign in. See Getting started.

A person can belong to one organization only. An email address that is already a member elsewhere is refused.

The users table

Each row shows the person's name (with a you badge on your own row), email, role, and when they were added.

  • Change a person's Role in place.
  • Resend welcome email creates a new 7-day link for someone who has not signed in yet or whose link expired.
  • Remove takes the person out of the organization. They lose access immediately. You cannot remove yourself or take away your own administrator role.

Roles

Roles are sets of permissions. Every Lab-only organization starts with Admin, Member and User roles. A role with Lab: Access can sign in to the Lab; a role with Admin: Access can also manage users and printers. Roles themselves are edited in Picsha Admin, which administrators of a Lab-only organization can open at their organization's address followed by /admin.
