Search syntax

A quick reference for the search box in Picsha DAM. The full guide is Searching.

Type Finds
apple peach Assets matching both words, anywhere: one in a tag, one in a label.
apple \| peach Either word.
apple -peach Apple without peach.
"New York" The phrase, or a whole multi-word tag.
(apple \| peach) -pie Grouping; use parentheses whenever you mix \| with other operators.
wing* Words starting with wing. The last word you are typing matches this way by itself.
#scenics Only assets tagged scenics, not the word in labels, descriptions or file names. While you type, the tag matches as a prefix; pick it from the suggestions or type a space to match exactly.
#"New York" A tag with spaces, matched whole. Picking a tag or person from the suggestions writes this for you.
@Communications Assets whose audience includes the group or person. Type @ to pick.
  • Words are matched against tags, detected objects and labels, named people, descriptions, text found in images, file names and metadata.
  • Capitalization does not matter.
  • Fuzzy matching (~) is not supported.
  • The search covers the category, album or share you are in. Click All first to search everything.
  • AI search is separate: describe what you want in plain language and click the sparkle button.
  • Filters (date, rating, status, file type, keywords and your organization's own fields) narrow the results further; see Filters.
